The Red Pyramid (The Kane Chronicles, Book 1)

The Red Pyramid - Rick Riordan Rating this book in relation to its target audience, I think it is very well done. The book's strength is really in its structure and its mythological knowledge. I felt the characters were average.

I felt there was a lot of allegory in this novel. The son born of the bloodline of a king must sacrifice himself to save the world. The power of the word (In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God). And there was a message that mankind must return to a harmonious relationship with deity or we will see our world destroyed.
